Sweet Tea and Fatal Secrets

I grew up in Southern Indiana, where books became my first favorite escape route. While other kids were climbing out of windows to get into trouble, I was climbing into stories to get away from it. Reading was my safe place during a childhood that was often dark. Between the covers of a book, I could be anywhere, anyone, and far away from whatever reality was throwing my way that day.

Somewhere along the line, I realized the stories that helped save me were written by ordinary people who simply dared to put words on a page. That realization eventually led me here, writing stories of my own and hoping they might provide someone else with the same comfort, distraction, laughter, or late-night "just one more chapter" addiction that books gave me.

These days, I live in Northern California with my wife and our five kids pretending I don't already own enough books to open a small library.

I love stories with heart, humor, grit, and good vibes. I believe books can help us heal, make us laugh when we least expect it, and remind us that we're not as alone as we think we are. Sometimes a book is entertainment. Sometimes it's therapy with better dialogue.

Welcome. Pull up a chair. The vibes are good, the stories are waiting, and there's always room for one more reader.
